How to Add a Macro

Some notes from Ian Madsen:

  1. Go to the “User Macros” page
  2. Click the “edit this page” tab at the top of the page
  3. Create a new line in the table of macros - try to order the macros alphabetically - follow the formatting of the other lines
  4. Click the “internal link” button (8th from left)
  5. Enter the name of the new macro between the double square brackets “New_Macro_Name”
  6. Enter a description of the new macro under the “Description” column
  7. When finished editing, press the “Save” button at the bottom of the screen - this will return you to the “User Macros” screen
  8. Click on the new macro name - this will navigate to a screen with “This topic does not exist yet”
  9. To create the topic click the “create this page” tab at the top of the page
  10. Type a title at the top of the page, highlight it and click on “H+”
  11. Type a short description of the macro on the next line
  12. Paste in the text of your macro, then highlight it and click on the “Ta” button. This will format it as topas code.
  13. When finished editing, press the “Save” button at the bottom of the screen - this will return you to the viewing screen for this macro
  14. Go back to “User Macros”
  15. Test the link
  16. Sit back with the warm cosy glow that comes from knowing that, once again, you and your feeble brain have conquered the machine.
