How to Add a Macro

Some notes from Ian Madsen:

  1. Ordered List Item
  2. Go to the “User Macros” page
  3. Click the “edit this page” tab at the top of the page
  4. Create a new line in the table of macros - try to order the macros alphabetically - follow the formatting of the other lines
  5. Click the “internal link” button (8th from left)
  6. Enter the name of the new macro between the double square brackets New_Macro_Name
  7. Enter a description of the new macro under the “Description” column
  8. When finished editing, press the “Save” button at the bottom of the screen - this will return you to the “User Macros” screen
  9. Click on the new macro name - this will navigate to a screen with “This topic does not exist yet”
  10. To create the topic click the “create this page” tab at the top of the page
  11. Type a title at the top of the page, highlight it and click on “H+”
  12. Type a short description of the macro
  13. On the next line press the “Ta” button at the top of the editable area
  14. Replace the text “Macro Code” with the text of your own macro

Do not edit the

  or  

which should be at the start and end of your macro respectively

  1. When finished editing, press the “Save” button at the bottom of the screen - this will return you to the viewing screen for this macro

Go back to “User Macros”

  1. Test the link
  2. Sit back with the warm cosy glow that comes from knowing that, once again, you and your feeble brain have conquered the machine.
